The conference will be held at the Uppsala Castle, city of Uppsala (70 km north of Stockholm). Here you can check-in upon your arrival and you will be handed a bag with maps and conference programme. All sessions, except the opening session, will take place in the castle, and also the conference dinner. Opening session will take place in the University main building.
Lunch is served in the banquet hall in the old building of Norrlands nation .

About Uppsala
Uppsala is an interesting city with much history, beautiful scenery and long university tradition. As early as the 4th century AD it was known as an important religious center. As a heritage, important archeological remains are located in the area. Uppsala Cathedral is the largest in Scandinavia and dates back to 13th century. Uppsala University was founded in 1477 and it is ranked among the finest in the world. Carl Linnaeus, Anders Celsius and Olof Rudbeck are some of Uppsala’s renowned figures from the past. The Norrlands nation is where lunch will be served. It is situated by the Fyris river in central Uppsala. Built in 1889, it is one of the oldest student nations in Uppsala. See the conference programme for lunch schedule.
Getting here
From Arlanda Situated between Stockholm and Uppsala, it is the main airport in the region. There are frequent trains and busses to Uppsala. The train station is located in Terminal 5 and tickets can be bought with credit card. Buss 801 goes to Uppsala and tickets can be bought in the buss. It costs SEK 100 (approximately EUR 11). Taxis cost: about SEK 415 (approx. EUR 45). Ask the driver for a fixed price (“fast pris”) in advance. You can pay by credit card or by cash.
From Skavsta It is relatively far from Uppsala. Take the bus from the airport to Stockholm, take approx. 1.5 hours. The bus will leave you at the Stockholm Central Station. From here take train (approx. 45 mins) or bus (approx. 1 hour) to Uppsala. If you plan to arrive late at night make sure that you don't miss the last bus to Uppsala.
From Västerås Västerås airport is located 77 km west of Uppsala. The timetable is adjusted to Ryanair's arrivals and departures at Västerås Airport and it takes 90 min.
From Bromma Stockholm-Bromma airport is located 9 km west of Stockholm. There are busses to Stockholm Central Station where busses and trains leave to Uppsala.
By ferry from Estonia, Latvia and Finland
Silja Line and Viking Line arrive to Stockholm. There are frequent trains and busses from Stockholm’s Central Station to Uppsala.
By ferry from Gdansk
Ferris from Gdansk arrive to Nynashamn, aprox. 50 km south of Stockholm. There are direct busses and trains to Stockholm Central Station.
Good to know
The weather in September is mild and it is a good month to visit Sweden. Nevertheless, don’t forget to bring a jacket. The average temperature is 12ºC.
